TORONTO, Sept. 13, 2013 /CNW/ - On Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9.00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Yonge Street will be completely closed to traffic between Royal Orchard Boulevard and John Street.
This closure will extend south to Clarke Street during the Annual Parade. This closure will be from 9.30 a.m. to 11.45 a.m.
The closure is located in Thornhill, in southern York Region between Steeles Avenue and Highway 407.
Motorists who use Yonge St. as a through route are strongly advised to use either Bathurst Street or Bayview Avenue.
Several side streets including Centre Street, near Yonge Street, will be closed from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm
Between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thornhill will be holding its 37th Village Festival along two kilometres of streets in Old Thornhill. This annual event attracts up to 10,000 visitors.
The Parade is at 10.30 am
Entertainment is at several locations.
Over 100 booths offer a wide variety of crafts.
There are amusements for children.

Because the Festival is organised by a volunteer committee, there is an admission charge of $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for teens and seniors. Admission is free for children (12 and under) and for those in full heritage costume.
