MONTREAL , Sept. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Elected President of Desjardins Group in March 2008 , Monique Leroux distinguishes herself by her remarkable rise as senior executive in the financial world, backed by a solid background in auditing, accountancy and tax.     Still weakened by the financial crisis that has recently flattened the
    global economy, Québec has no time to dress its wounds. Itself in the
    early stages of a wide-ranging demographic shockwave caused by its
    quickly aging population, the province needs to begin preparing now.
    Given the imminent decrease in Québec's labour force, businesses must
    accelerate the improvement of their productivity in order to avoid a
    severe drop-off in the economy. Possible solutions to further
    productivity include tightened procedures, more innovation, better work
    organization and greater investment in education.
