/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Early Christmas delivery for Canada Post/

OTTAWA, Dec. 15 /CNW/ - On Thursday, December 16, 2010 Canada Post will receive the first Ford Transit Connect Electric commercial delivery vehicle in Canada. The all-electric commercial van, built on the Ford Transit Connect vehicle body and equipped with Azure Dynamics' patented Force Drive™ battery electric powertrain is the first of ten zero-emission pure electric-powered vehicles the corporation has committed to purchasing.

Canada Post has arranged for a media photo-op of this special delivery at 10 a.m. on Thursday at its head office (2701 Riverside Drive).

Key representatives in attendance include the Honourable Rob Merrifield, Minister of State (Transport); John Farnand, Canada Post Vice President, Postal Transformation; Scott Cauvel, Vice President of Sales, Ford of Canada, Mike Elwood, Vice President of Marketing at Azure Dynamics.

The new electric vehicle will be available for a test drive for all interested media.
