/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Demonstration of security screening at
Olympic venues/

VANCOUVER, Jan. 31 /CNW/ - The Vancouver 2010 Integrated Security Unit (ISU), Contemporary Security Canada and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Winter Games (VANOC), are conducting a full demonstration for media to show what spectators can expect when they arrive at an Olympic venue.

The ISU is responsible for overseeing and providing security for Olympic athletes and Internationally Protected Persons, as well as securing approximately 30 of the 2010 Winter Games venues. To support this, Contemporary Security Canada (CSC) will be providing security screening services under the supervision of the ISU in the venue pedestrian screening areas.

This event will be an opportunity for media to:

    -  See the "look" of Olympic security including security screener and a
       variety of police officer uniforms
    -  View a demonstration of what spectators can expect when they arrive
       at a venue's pedestrian screening area

    There will also be brief remarks from VANOC, the ISU and CSC.

    Date:  Monday February 1, 2010
    Time:  13:30
    Place: Pacific Coliseum, 100 North Renfrew Street, Vancouver

Parking for media will be in Lot 9B on the PNE grounds.

Please note that this event will be held outdoors and we recommend that you come prepared for rain or shine.
