WHAT: Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) and Insurance Brokers
Association of PEI (IBAPEI) are co-hosting a reception to
announce details of the 2010 Be Smart. Be Safe. Tour, an
award-winning community outreach program that is returning
to Atlantic Canada for a sixth summer season. The
entertaining and educational program was developed by IBC to
prevent injuries and save lives.
WHEN/WHERE: Tuesday, May 25, at 4:00 p.m. at Founders' Hall,
Charlottetown

HIGHLIGHTS:
- The DUMB Car 2.0 simulator addresses a broad range of road safety
issues including driving while distracted and in adverse weather,
avoiding road hazards and identifying the point-of-no-return at
traffic lights. IBC has also included an eco-driving segment to teach
people how to improve fuel efficiency and reduce their carbon
footprints.
- Two interactive exhibits show the public what they can do to adapt to
climate change by using rain barrels and reducing the risk of sewer
backups.
- An educational display shows what should be included in an emergency
preparedness kit in the event of a natural disaster.
- An interactive exhibit teaches kids how to avoid common household
injuries.
