Queen of England's visit to Canada House in London is celebrated with CARONE's VENICE Cabernet Severnyi red wine

LANORAIE, QC, Feb 19, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On February 19, CARONE enjoyed the great honour of participating in the Official Opening of Canada House in London by Her Majesty The Queen accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh by being the red wine served during the reception event hosted by Mr. John Baird, Member of Parliament.

CARONE was the official red wine for the event held at the newly renovated High Commission of Canada's UK location – Canada House. The distinguished guests included Her Majesty The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, and other notable personalities enjoyed the VENICE Cabernet Severnyi 2012.

Anthony Carone, winemaker and owner of CARONE Wines, commented on their wine being served for the occasion; "We are truly honoured and thrilled that such an amazing array of influential and important people have tasted our wine, in such an incredible setting as London's Canada House." The VENICE Cabernet Severnyi had previously been awarded gold medals at the San Francisco International Wine Competition and Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in 2008, and All Canadian Wine Championship in 2006.

CARONE's VENICE Cabernet Severnyi wine has become the choice for royals, having been previously served to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Princess Kate in 2011. However, Quebecers can celebrate in the royal style as well – the wine is available at SAQ stores throughout the province (product code #11004488), at the Marché des Saveurs du Québec in the Jean Talon Market, and directly from the winery.

Mr. Carone continued: "We see this as a great opportunity to showcase world-class wines grown and produced right here in Quebec. This is acknowledgement that our longstanding investment in the Quebec wine industry, agriculturally and economically, is well warranted and CARONE will continue to place Quebec on the world map of winemaking regions. CARONE was the first Quebec winery to commercially grow Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Cabernet Severnyi grapes and produce wines from those varieties.

CARONE's VENICE Cabernet Severnyi was served alongside Pillitteri Estates Winery's Vidal Icewine, Andrew Peller Limited's Cuvee Icewine, and Clos du Soleil's 2013 Capella white wine.
