The Government of Canada supports the ComediHa! Fest-Québec
QUEBEC CITY, May 29, 2018 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), and the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, announced financial support for the 2018 ComediHa! Fest-Québec.
CED has made a non-refundable contribution of $300,000 to hold this comedy festival in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The sum granted under the Quebec Economic Development Program will have been used to market and develop this event.
Canadian Heritage is providing $70,000 in funding through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. This funding will allow festival-goers to enjoy all sorts of artistic expression, including stand-up comedy, music, theatre, improvisation and more.

ComediHa! Fest-Québec performs about 300 shows each year and employs more than 450 artists.
For the 2018 version, to be held from August 8 to 19, two new outdoor sites have been planned. There will be playful and festive villages, as well as unusual venues.
The ComediHa! Galas, presented at Palais Montcalm, will be hosted by renowned artists this year. Patrick Huard, Véronique Cloutier, Phil Roy, Fabien Cloutier, Jean-Michel Anctil and the duo of Véronique Claveau/Mario Tessier will be at the helm of six Galas.
