Quality Early Learning Network supports government's plan for more options
for before- and after-school programs
TORONTO, Dec. 16 /CNW/ - The Quality Early Learning Network (QELN) is supportive of the Ontario Government's announcement to provide families with more options. The ability for school boards to continue with successful partnerships will allow families access to seamless, high quality non-profit programs that will meet the needs of children and families.
Non-profit child care organizations support the Premier's vision and understand the significant benefits of full day learning. We believe that collaborations between schools and child care will help the Premier achieve the vision of seamless early learning for 4- and 5-year olds and we look forward to continuing to work with the government as the vision of full-day kindergarten is implemented.
The QELN is a membership of 18 non-profit early learning and family support organizations across the City of Toronto, Regions of York, Durham and Peel, Hamilton and London. Their members provide early learning and care for more than 35,000 children and their families and employ more than 3,150 early childhood educators. The member organizations, governed by boards of directors with close ties to their communities, ensure the highest standards of accountability and effectiveness.
