Public invited to play for free at grand opening of Jack Axe - Canada's first public indoor lumberjack sports arena

EDMONTON, May 30, 2016 /CNW/ - Local residents and families are invited to be a part of making history by taking in the Free-Play Day at the grand opening of the first indoor public lumberjack sports arena in Canada on Sunday, June 5, 2016

Co-owners Matt and Lynn Pringle are inviting members of the public to enjoy one free hour of activities at Jack Axe located at 9785-45 Avenue.  In return, participants will be asked to provide feedback on the facility and potentially appear in the promotional videos that will be shot throughout the day.  View Matt and Lynn's video invite on You Tube at

Thrill seekers and fun lovers will be awed by this premier 5,200 square foot facility that includes an array of unique, challenging and fun activities including:

  • Axe Throwing
  • Pole Climbing
  • Dry Land Log Birling
  • Buck Saw
  • Hercules Hoist

Free Play is from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on a first come, first served basis up to maximum capacity.  "We are delighted to showcase our new facility with the public and to get their feedback and participation in our marketing," says Co-owner, Lynn Pringle. "Our goal is to offer an alternative fun activity for families and groups of any kind to enjoy." 

The facility offers a variety of ways to enjoy the sports including drop-in, league nights, corporate events, birthday parties, stag/stagette parties or to celebrate any occasion.

Axe throwing is open to anyone seven years and older while other sports have a minimum age of 16. Minors must be accompanied by and have permission of a responsible adult to participate. All activities include safety measures and instruction and are supervised by trained professionals.  Jack Axe also has fun activities for smaller children. This premier sporting arena also has a fully stocked snack bar and lounge with an assortment of hot and cold treats and beverages with great views of all the action.

  • Jack Axe has also reserved May 30—June 4 to raise awareness with media.
