MONTRÉAL, Oct. 27, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - A tentative agreement for the renewal of the collective agreement was ratified today by unionized employees of the Old Port of Montréal Corporation Inc. belonging to the PRO accreditation unit (representing permanent, regular, and casual employees). The Science Centre will fully resume its operations Thursday, November 10.
The Old Port of Montréal Corporation Inc. is pleased that unionized employees chose to accept the agreement and looks forward to welcoming them back to prepare for the reopening of the Science Centre.
Great news! The popular Animal Inside Out exhibition has been extended until March 12. Visitors will also be delighted that the equally popular classics —including Science 26, Fabrik, Clic!, and Human— will also be reopened, alongside the IMAX®TELUS Theatre which will be showing A Beautiful Planet 3D as well as Humpback Whales 3D, the Science Centre's latest feature film presentation.
However, the accreditation unit representing seasonal employees, which includes 20 members during the summer season, voted against the agreement. These employees are normally assigned to skating rink operations during the winter season. The Old Port is currently assessing the impact of this decision on its activities.

More about the agreement in principle
The agreement provides for a 12% increase over five years, a 1% annual indexation on salary structures, and increased leave for part-time employees. It also includes the establishment, in partnership with the union, of a parity committee to analyze the overall remuneration of unionized employees in relation to the market.
