Professor Craig Brown of University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law joins
Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP as counsel

TORONTO, Oct. 19 /CNW/ - Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP is pleased to announce that Professor Craig Brown of the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Law has joined the firm as counsel. Professor Brown, who is one of Canada's leading insurance law academics, co-authors Insurance Law in Canada with TGP's Tom Donnelly.

Professor Brown is a nationally recognized legal scholar who will provide counsel at Thomas Gold Pettingill in the areas of insurance policy interpretation and tort law. He will continue his practice of providing coverage analysis and expert witness opinions in matters pertaining to insurance law. The text he co-authors with Tom Donnelly, Insurance Law in Canada, is now in its sixth student edition and has been cited in hundreds of cases at the trial and appellate level, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

Professor Brown has also written three other books on insurance law, as well as numerous articles. He has served as a consultant to government, industry associations, and lawyers on matters related to insurance law, and acts as an arbitrator in insurance matters. Professor Brown is a native of New Zealand. He once served on the legal staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New Zealand. He has taught law at Victoria University of Wellington and at the University of Illinois. Since 1977 Professor Brown has been on the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario.
