Prime Minister Carney to hold fall Cabinet Planning Forum focused on building with greater speed and ambition

OTTAWA, ON, Sept. 7, 2026 /CNW/ -- Today, the Prime Minister, Mark Carney, announced that Canada's government will hold a Cabinet Planning Forum in Banff, Alberta, from September 10 to 11, 2026.

Since forming government, the Prime Minister has advanced a clear and consistent plan. The government is building Canada's economic strength at home, diversifying partnerships abroad, and delivering for Canadians. We have laid the foundations for a stronger, more resilient, and more prosperous Canada and put affordability at the centre of our agenda. We have made bold changes, including new major infrastructure projects, a new Defence Industrial Strategy, and a new tax credit to make Canadian businesses more competitive. In parallel, the government is rapidly diversifying Canada's trade and defence relationships abroad. In the face of serious headwinds, the government is not changing course.

The fall Cabinet Planning Forum will convene Cabinet ministers and secretaries of State to take stock of progress and outline the next actions in the government's plan. Cabinet will hear from leading experts on the economy, Indigenous partnerships, and global affairs, and double down focus on delivering for Canadians. In a rapidly changing world, the government is focused on building Canada Strong.
