President of North West and Canada Cruise Association retires from position
VANCOUVER, Aug. 5 /CNW/ - John Hansen, President of the North West and Canada Cruise Association, based in Vancouver, BC has advised that he will be leaving NWCCA at the end of January 2011.
Hansen has served in the position of President for 12 years. He will be leaving to pursue other interests.
"The cruise industry is dynamic and exciting and it has been an honour for me to have worked in the industry for more than a decade. It has been a great experience to have worked with the executives in the industry from all the major cruise lines. I am proud of our achievements over this period of time." Hansen said.
Bob Stone, Chairman of NWCCA, and Senior VP, Tours, for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises, echoed the sentiments and added, "We appreciate John's leadership of the organization and the important role that he played in the industry in the Pacific NW, Canada and Hawaii. We wish him all the best in the next phase of his career."
Stone said that an executive search will commence immediately for a new president. The target will be to conclude a smooth transition by the end of January. He added there are no plans to change the structure, or the Vancouver home office location of NWCCA.
