Premier Kathleen Wynne endorses Toronto Centre candidate Bill Morneau
Wynne cites Morneau's leadership and willingness to work collaboratively with provinces
TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Bill Morneau Campaign is excited to announce that the Premier of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, has endorsed Bill Morneau in the race for the federal seat in Toronto Centre. The endorsement came after a morning run with the Premier and a group of young volunteers from Toronto Centre.
"I am proud to endorse Bill as the new MP for Toronto Centre," said Premier Wynne. "Hard working and dedicated, Bill is a strong leader and has a willingness to work across boundaries to achieve results. We need a new federal government that will work with us to build more opportunity and security for all Canadians."
"I am honoured to have received support from Premier Wynne," said Bill Morneau. "I have had the pleasure of working with our Premier over the past couple of years, and I am optimistic about the opportunity to work together in the future, to collaborate with provincial counterparts and strengthen our country."
"Canadians are tired of a Federal Government that refuses to work with provinces. Our government will sit down at the Council of the Federation and work with leaders to address the most important challenges facing our country, including the environment, the infrastructure deficit and helping to ensure a secure retirement for all," added Morneau.
Premier Wynne's endorsement comes on the heels of support from community leaders in Toronto Centre, volunteers and Liberal Party members.
