Pre-Paid Legal Services Announces Additional Stock Repurchase Authorization


<p>ADA, Okla., <chron>Dec. 2</chron> /CNW/ -- Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. (NYSE:   PPD), announced that our Board of Directors has authorized an additional repurchase of 1 million shares, as we have purchased virtually all of our previously announced stock repurchase authorizations totaling 15 million shares.  We will make purchases at prices we consider attractive. We have not set a time limit for completion of the additional share repurchases.</p>
<p>During the fourth quarter of 2009 through <chron>November 30, 2009</chron>, we returned <money>$28.8 million</money> to shareholders through the repurchase of 722,022 shares of common stock, at an average per share price of <money>$39.89</money>. Since <chron>April 1999</chron>, we have returned <money>$450.8 million</money> to shareholders through the purchase of 14.9 million shares, average price of <money>$30.21</money> per share, and <money>$17.1 million</money> in dividends for a combined total of <money>$467.9 million</money> representing more than 100% of our net earnings during the same timeframe.</p>
