Policy Group voices concern over Ontario Government abandonment of Bill 115
OTTAWA, Jan. 22, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Centre for Policy Studies is expressing its concern with the decision by Ontario's Liberal government to abandon bill 115, calling the move "disturbing.".
"This decision may help Ontario's Liberal Party and its leadership candidates raise money from public sector unions," observed Mike Patton, Director of Provincial Affairs for the Centre, "but it does nothing to ward off the fiscal crisis toward which Ontario is speeding."
"Bill 115 represented a very modest attempt to avert that crisis by re-asserting some control over public-sector spending," continued Patton. "Abandoning the bill now is a disturbing signal that the government's lacks the resolve to get its fiscal house in order."
