Pickering Applauds OLG's Selection of GTA Gaming Bundle Operator

PICKERING, ON, Aug. 8, 2017 /CNW/ - The City of Pickering is very pleased that Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation (OLG) has selected Ontario Gaming GTA LP (OGGLP) as the service provider for the GTA Gaming Bundle.

OGGLP is a world class consortium comprised of Great Canadian Gaming, Brookfield Business Partners, and Clairvest Group.  Together, they boast a wealth of global experience and leadership with respect to infrastructure development, gaming, and entertainment & hospitality development.

Equally as important, the partners have demonstrated a strong and genuine commitment to the community through charitable grants, volunteering, and social responsibility efforts.  Mayor Dave Ryan believes that OGGLP is truly the best fit for Pickering, Ajax, and Durham Region.

"I applaud the Government of Ontario, through OLG, for taking a major step forward in its modernization efforts by selecting OGGLP as the new service provider," said Mayor Dave Ryan.  "While OGGLP has not yet announced its final site selection, we look forward to participating in meaningful discussions on Durham Live's multi-billion dollar value proposition.  With respect to augmenting gaming revenues, economic development, and significant job creation, Durham Live represents an unparalleled opportunity for Durham Region, the Province of Ontario, and OGGLP."

As a gateway to the east GTA, Pickering (population 94,000) is strategically located where Toronto, York and Durham Regions meet, and boasts a world class EN3 Cluster of Energy, Environmental and Engineering companies. Pickering is home to the largest industrial sector in Durham Region, including a wide range of manufacturers who ship their products across the globe.  Seaton is a new community located in Central Pickering, designed to attract 30,000 new jobs and 60,000 new residents to the City by 2031.  New business can take advantage of direct access to major highways; an educated and skilled labour force; state-of-the-art infrastructure; and a wealth of emerging greenfield employment lands fronting Highway 407.
