LACHINE, QC, Jan. 23, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Since the Ministre de la Santé et des Services sociaux announced his intention to transfer the management of the Lachine Hospital from the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) to the CSSS de Dorval-Lachine-LaSalle, the Save the Lachine Hospital of the MUHC Committee, chaired by Lachine Mayor Claude Dauphin and Dorval Mayor Edgar Rouleau, has successfully mobilized the community.
In just one week, a petition launched by the committee has collected more than 3,000 signatures. It asks the minister to keep the Lachine Hospital within the MUHC and to invest the $63 million that was promised for the modernization and expansion of the hospital.
The Committee invites the entire community to sign the petition to save the Lachine Hospital. An electronic version is now available on the National Assembly's website at www.assnat.qc.ca. A printable version is also available on the Lachine Hospital Foundation's website at www.fondationhopitallachine.com, in public buildings throughout Dorval and Lachine, and at the office of the MNA for Marquette, François Ouimet.
It is also possible to follow the campaign's progress on Twitter @NotreHopLachine.
