Pathways non profit centre seeks CBC disclaimer
LONDON, ON, Feb. 17, 2012 /CNW/ - The Executive Director of London-based Pathways Skill Development & Placement Centre has asked CBC's Marketplace to add a disclaimer to this evening's program, "Recruitment Rip-Off", exposing the practices of a firm with a similar name, Toronto Pathways.
"Pathways Skill Development in London is a charitable organization that assists individuals to overcome barriers to employment," said Paul Hubert, Executive Director. "We have been helping social assistance recipients to return to the workplace since 1989 and are a member of ONESTEP, which is a provincial network of employment agencies."
London-based Pathways provides employment preparation services, skills training and job placement services to help the unemployed rediscover the confidence to re-enter the workforce.
"We are proud of the work we do and care about the people we serve. We applaud Marketplace's desire to ensure integrity in service provision. However, it would be most unfortunate if our reputation were to be damaged because of confusion over a name," said Hubert. "It is our sincere hope that the Executive Producer of CBC's Marketplace will make sure there is no such confusion."
