PACE Polo For Heart gallops back June 25-27th

RICHMOND HILL, ON, May 14 /CNW/ - The 31st Annual PACE Polo for Heart gallops back to York Region this June 25, 26 and 27th. Canada's largest charity polo tournament features some of the world's best polo players in a program that promises to be bigger and better than ever. Two exciting polo games, the popular half-time show, ongoing entertainment and activities all provide an action-packed afternoon each day for guests of all ages.

Events begin noon daily at the beautiful Gormley Polo Centre in Richmond Hill. Horses and riders from as far away as Argentina will compete against a colourful backdrop of tables and tents on a beautiful course the size of four football fields. Spectators are invited to bring their own picnic and chair for a field-side view, or purchase refreshments on-site. A myriad of boutiques and displays are available for perusing between games including a children's activity centre and "Art Walk" featuring works from local artists.

Daily features include a performing dogs show, Polo Pony Parade, "Polo 101" demonstration and the award-winning Canadian Cowgirls precision drill team. Everyone is invited onto the field at half-time for the traditional Champagne Divot Stomp and thrilling descent of the colourful Descenders Parachute Club's skydivers. Added on Sunday only is an exotic kite demonstration by the Toronto Kite Flyers. Prizes are awarded each day for the "Best Picnic" and "Best Hat" and guests can mix and mingle with the horses and riders following the games. New this year is a Dressage Quadrille exhibition to music by some of Canada's top dressage riders.

Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at the gate. There is plenty of parking available on-site and children under 12 enter free. Since 1979 Polo For Heart has raised over $4.5 million for heart and stroke-related charities. This year's proceeds will be designated towards the Cardiac Care program at Southlake Regional Health Centre and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario's Chase McEachern Tribute Fund.

Gormley Polo Centre is located at 13404 Leslie Street, just south of Bloomington Road in north Richmond Hill. For more information and directions visit
