Ottawa company outshines thousands to claim top international web design honours
OPIN's design of The Prime Minister of Canada website and SOS Children's Villages website beat out 5000 competitors from 24 countries to win silver in two respective 2014 Summit Creative award categories.
OTTAWA, May 27, 2014 /CNW/ - OPIN, an Ottawa company specializing in enterprise content management solutions built on Drupal, was recently given international recognition for outstanding creative design.
"We are incredibly proud and grateful to have received this distinction," said Chris Smith, CEO of OPIN. "We have a very talented and devoted group of individuals working at OPIN. Adrian Rylski, our Creative Director, worked very hard on these websites so it is truly gratifying to have that work identified as being among the best in the world. I am particularly thrilled for our clients, who can take singular satisfaction from this honour."
The Prime Minister of Canada's website was awarded the silver medal in the government website category. SOS Children's Villages Redesign was also awarded a silver medal in the non-profit website category.
"Discriminating critics were highly impressed with OPIN's creativity," noted Jocelyn Luciano, Executive Director of Summit International Awards (SIA). SIA is recognized as one of the premier arbiters of creative excellence. This year's panel of judges included professionals from well-respected marketing and communications firms from around the world.
Dan Loftus, Director of Integrated Marketing at SOS Children's Villages Canada said the redesign has been a great boon for his organization not only because the website is now more visually appealing, but because it is also easier to navigate, resulting in greater engagement and more donations. The organization, which provides orphaned and abandoned children with a safe and loving home, must rely heavily on donations.
"We are honored that our website has been so well received not only by our own community but now, by this international panel," said Mr. Loftus. "We are grateful to OPIN for allowing us to better meet the needs of our audience with a more streamlined and helpful architecture that truly captivates."
OPIN has already received several honors and recognitions since its inception.
