TORONTO, Sept. 17, 2026 /CNW/ -- The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) hosted a three-part webinar series for the National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine (NSSMC), bringing together staff from both organizations to exchange experiences and discuss approaches to investor protection, market integrity and issuer disclosure.
The first two sessions, delivered by the OSC's Investor Office and Enforcement Division, focused on investor protection, covering financial literacy, investor engagement, investment fraud, and cross-border regulatory risks. The final session, presented by the OSC's Corporate Finance Division, examined financial reporting and continuous disclosure requirements, as well as emerging issues such as so called 'AI washing.'
Throughout the series, both regulators exchanged perspectives on common challenges and regulatory approaches in their respective markets.
"The OSC values opportunities to engage and share knowledge with regulatory partners around the world. We are also grateful to the NSSMC for their perspectives on issues that are increasingly important across both our jurisdictions," said Grant Vingoe, Chief Executive Officer of the OSC. "By sharing experiences and discussing emerging risks and regulatory approaches, our organizations have strengthened a relationship that supports our shared commitment to investor protection, market integrity and confidence in capital markets."
"Cooperation with leading international peers like the OSC is of immense value to the Ukrainian regulator," said Kateryna Protsenko, Deputy Director of the International Relations and European Integration Coordination Department at the NSSMC. "This knowledge-sharing series provided our team with practical tools and modern perspectives on critical supervisory areas, from combating cross-border fraud to addressing emerging market risks. We sincerely appreciate the solidarity and dedication of the OSC team and consider this an important step in strengthening our long-term regulatory partnership."
The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, to foster capital formation, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk.
