OPSEU files notice to bargain for Renfrew Home Support workers
RENFREW, ON, Oct. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - OPSEU has filed notice to bargain the first collective agreement for unionized staff at Community Living Renfrew County South. In a vote held Aug. 18, workers voted to join OPSEU.
The contract will cover 96 members, based in the towns of Renfrew and Arnprior, part OPSEU's province-wide developmental services sector of more than 10,000 members.
"Our goal will be to negotiate for these new members the best possible improvements in their workplace," said OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. "By electing to join OPSEU, they know they've taken a big step in the right direction."
Workers at CLRCS provide support to individuals with one or more intellectual disabilities.
