Ontario Toyota Dealers Association Launches the Wishmaker Holiday Calendar

The Wishmaker Celebrates 24 Deserving Ontarians

TORONTO, Dec. 1, 2014 /CNW/ - The Ontario Toyota Dealers Association (OTDA) is celebrating this holiday season by creating 24 special moments of giving. The OTDA created the Wishmaker to give back to 24 deserving Ontarians - from Toronto, to Windsor and Thunder Bay, and it kicked off today. 

Starting today, the OTDA will fulfill one holiday wish every day until Christmas. Today the OTDA is proud to support to Lhara Eben who teaches a Toronto-based program Dancing With Parkinson's. This gift will help Eben continue providing free dance classes to people living with Parkinson's. The power of movement has a profound impact on individuals with Parkinson's disease, and through dance Eben helps connect her dancer's minds to their bodies to promote positive thinking.

"With 82 Toyota dealerships across the province, we meet incredible people every day, and we wanted to find a way to create a little holiday magic and spread cheer this December," said Andy Caletti, President of the Ontario Toyota Dealers Association. "Our Wishmaker is our way of celebrating Ontarians and giving back this holiday season."

These 24 joyous holiday moments will come to life through a giant Wishmaker Holiday Calendar. Beautifully lit and made from stacked shipping containers, the Holiday Wishmaker Calendar is where daily winners will be granted their wish – a puppy a little boy or girl has been dreaming of, a family reunited for the holidays, or that special something that will bring a smile and joy this season.

On November 15, bloggers began a call out to their audiences, asking people to write, send a video or photo to nominate a deserving Ontarian for a special gift. The OTDA is encouraging all Ontarians to continue to submit nominations through its central website ToyotaWishmaker.ca.

The campaign is also being shared and tracked on Twitter with the hashtag #ToyotaWishmaker. The Wishmaker Holiday Calendar is located at 8 Hanna Avenue, in Liberty Village.
