Ontario Privacy Commissioner Receives KnowledgeFlow's Highest Honour for Anti-Bully & Online Safety Achievements
Dr. Ann Cavoukian's efforts to curb bullying and victimization recognized by leading Canadian cybersafety organization.
TORONTO, July 15, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner Ann Cavoukian is the latest recipient of the KnowledgeFlow CyberSafety Champion award for her relentless drive to raise awareness in support of the most important causes affecting youth and families in the information age. "Dr. Cavoukian consistently raises the bar across a number of important domains. Her efforts to curb the victimization of the most vulnerable members of our society is something that we are proud to recognize" said Claudiu Popa, CEO of Informatica Corporation and founder of the KnowledgeFlow.ca Initiative.

The Information and Privacy Commissioner's office is renowned for championing built-in privacy for organizations through Privacy by Design (PbD), the gold standard in the protection of personal information. Claudiu Popa, a PbD Ambassador and recognized security expert said: "The Commissioner takes the same bold approach to protecting victimized youth as with the protection of personal information. Stop Bullying…by Design is a vision we respect enormously and have incorporated aspects of the Commissioner's messaging within our framework for cybersafety education." KnowledgeFlow.ca uses corporate contributions to create educational content for youth, parents and educators to end cyberbullying, prevent privacy breaches and combat cybercrime that targets children.
