Ontario $25 million winning LOTTO MAX ticket still unclaimed
TORONTO, Aug. 18 /CNW/ - The Ottawa area owner(s) of a winning ticket for half of the $50 million LOTTO MAX jackpot from the August 13, 2010 draw has still not come forward.
"No-one has come forward with a winning ticket yet, so if you bought a ticket check your numbers either at an OLG retailer or on OLG.ca," said Wendy Montgomery, Vice-President of Lottery Marketing at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. "We're excited and waiting to meet Ontario's new multi-millionaire."
In the Friday, August 13 LOTTO MAX draw, there were also 11 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets sold in Ontario:
- 5 tickets worth $1 million each - sold in Toronto, Milton and in the Barrie region
- 3 tickets worth $500,000 each - sold in Richmond Hill and Toronto
- 3 tickets worth $333,333.40 each - sold in Napanee, Cambridge and Barrie
MAXMILLIONS are additional $1 million draws added to the game when the LOTTO MAX jackpot reaches $50 million. MAXMILLIONS prizes are drawn separately from the LOTTO MAX jackpot draw, which means that a LOTTO MAX ticket not only gives players a chance at the jackpot but also the chance to win any of the $1 million MAXMILLIONS draws on the same date.
Of the 40 MAXMILLIONS prizes drawn in last Friday's draw, a total of 14 were won across Canada. The unwon MAXMILLIONS prizes will be rolled into this Friday's LOTTO MAX draw which means the jackpot will be an estimated $36 million.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, Casinos, Slots, and Resort Casinos have generated more than $32 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
