Olympic Gold Medalist Simon Whitfield Supports Triathlons for Kids
Tri-FUN Kids' Triathlons promotes having fun and becoming healthier through multi-sport
OAKVILLE, ON, Feb. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - Tri-FUN Kids' Triathlons is launching a new race series that encourages kids ages 3-13 to get fit and have fun by being active through multi-sport. Tri-FUN's objectives are to help children enjoy all the emotional, developmental and social benefits that play through sport can bring, with a complementary focus on supporting the development of local, multi-sport athletic talent.
"Triathlons for kids are a great way to introduce children to multi-sport. The experience also gives kids a boost of confidence and a sense of accomplishment, which helps to encourage involvement in sport throughout childhood as part of a healthy lifestyle," says Simon Whitfield, a four-time triathlete Olympian and gold and silver medalist, who began racing triathlon at 11 years of age.
