OEB announces 2010 electricity distribution rates for Hydro Hawkesbury Inc.
TORONTO, June 18 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board (the Board) announced electricity distribution rates for Hydro Hawkesbury Inc. (Hawkesbury). The new rates are effective May 1, 2010.
The delivery line of electricity bills will decrease by approximately 6.7% or $1.36 for Hawkesbury's residential customers using 800 kWh per month. The delivery line represents about one-third of the total bill.
Hawkesbury requested $1,484,214 to cover its costs for the 2010 rate year. As a result of the Board's Decision Hawkesbury will recover a revenue requirement of $1,498,942.
The increase in the revenue requirement is mostly a result of underestimated regulatory expenses in the original application.
Hawkesbury will also return $1,606,148 to its ratepayers over a period ending April 30, 2012 to clear certain deferral and variance accounts.
A table of the estimated bill impacts on residential consumers is available on our website at http://www.oeb.gov.on.ca/OEB/_Documents/2010EDR/bill_impacts_2010.pdf.
