TORONTO, June 11, 2018 /CNW/ - Nutrigenomix Inc., a global leader in genetic testing for personalized nutrition, announces the appointment of Dr. Bibiana Garcia-Bailo as Director of Research & Development. Dr. Garcia-Bailo joins the science team at Nutrigenomix, bringing nearly 15 years of experience in nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics research.
Prior to joining Nutrigenomix, Dr. Garcia-Bailo served as Senior Scientist at the Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition at General Mills and conducted nutritional epidemiology research at the Public Health Agency of Canada. She is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, a position she will maintain as she helps the company expand its innovative research program.

Dr. Garcia-Bailo began her research in the Nutrition and Genomics Laboratory at Tufts University in Boston with Dr. Jose Ordovas and his team. She earned her PhD from the University of Toronto in Nutritional Sciences, where she investigated the effects of genetic variation on response to vitamins.
