DARTMOUTH, NS, May 31 /CNW/ - The Nova Scotia School Boards Association (NSSBA) elected their 2010-11 executive during the 56th annual general meeting, held in Cornwallis N.S., May 28-29, 2010. Over 90 delegates attended the conference, hosted by the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial.
Vic Fleury of the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board was elected president, assuming the role from out-going president Ron Marks. As NSSBA president, Fleury's duties will include chairing the board of directors and being an ex-officio member of all standing committees.
Joining Fleury on the executive will be Ron Marks, past president, Chignecto-Central Regional School Board; George Kehoe, first vice president, Strait Regional School Board; Jamie Stevens, second vice president, Chignecto-Central Regional School Board and Gin Yee, treasurer, Halifax Regional School Board.
The NSSBA is the provincial voice for school boards.
