The Government of Canada is pleased to announce that the Northern Lights sound and light show on Parliament Hill, which debuted in 2015, has hit the milestone of one million spectators
OTTAWA, Aug. 28, 2018 /CNW/ - Northern Lights has enjoyed immense success year after year. Since its first season in 2015, over one million spectators have come to Parliament Hill to liven up their summer nights with this impressive sound and light show. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the presence of numerous visitors and residents of Canada's Capital Region or the valuable support of Manulife, the show's exclusive sponsor.
This free bilingual show, presented on the Peace Tower and Centre Block of Parliament, provides visitors of all ages and backgrounds with a one-of-a-kind visual and sensory experience. Northern Lights tells about the key events that have shaped today's Canada.
"Every year, Northern Lights provides visitors and residents of Canada's Capital Region with an amazing historical experience. Bring your friends and family to Parliament Hill and enjoy this thrilling summer show until September 3."
—The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism
"Manulife is honoured to support Northern Lights, a unique celebration of Canadian culture and history. A common thread links Canada's history to that of Manulife: Manulife was founded in 1887, and Sir John A. MacDonald, Canada's first Prime Minister, was also our first president."
—Peter F. Wilkinson, Senior Vice President, Regulatory & Public Affairs, Manulife
Northern Lights broke records last year during Canada 150 celebrations. More than 314,400 people saw the show in 2017.
Manulife is the exclusive sponsor for Northern Lights.
