Fighting Child Sexual Abuse in Nunavut
Child Sexual Abuse crosses all social and economic boundaries and the impact of absue can have deep ramifications - suicide, alcohol and drug abuse, increased risk behaviors and the perpetuation of abuse. The Embrace Life Council began in 2003 with the recognition that there needed to be a coordinated initiative in addressing the high suicide rates in Nunavut. Together, Voice Found and the Embrace Life Council, working at the grassroots level in Nunavut, will help build a healthy community through education, awareness and indivual responsibility.
