Nissan Group reports record December and 2014 calendar year Canadian sales

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 5, 2015 /CNW/ - Nissan today announced total Canadian sales for December 2014 of 8,131 units, an increase of 17.9 per cent compared to last year and a December record. For calendar year 2014, Nissan set an all-time record with 115,445 total Canadian sales, an increase of 26.1 per cent over 2013.

Nissan Division 2014 calendar year highlights:

• In 2014, Nissan Division set an all-time record with 105,154 total sales, exceeding the 100,000 unit milestone for the first time within a calendar year.
• Nissan also set annual sales records for LEAF, Frontier, Rogue and NV200.
• Nissan Rogue remains the best-selling vehicle in the line-up with annual sales of 28,827 units, up 71 per cent over 2013.
• Arriving back to Canada this spring, the Nissan Micra sold 7,815 units in just eight months.
• In 2014, Nissan sold 1,085 LEAF vehicles up 131 per cent over 2013, making it the best-selling all-electric vehicle in Canada.

December 2014 highlights:

• Nissan Division set a December record with 7,330 sales, up 16 per cent.
• Rogue set a December record of 2,098 units sold, marking 12 consecutive months of record sales for the crossover.
• Sales of the Murano, launched as an all-new model in December, are up 148 per cent to 375 units.
• Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF totalled 64 up 128 per cent and a December record.
• Pathfinder sales grew almost 14 per cent to 776 while Sentra sales grew 10 per cent to 949.

Infiniti Division December & 2014 highlights:

• Infiniti Division set an annual record with total deliveries of 10,291.
• December sales totalled 801 units in Canada, an increase of 35.8 per cent versus 590 units a year earlier and its best December on record.
• This marks four consecutive months of record sales for the brand and Infiniti's best-ever year in Canada, exceeding sales of 10,000 units for the first time.
