VANCOUVER, April 20, 2015 /CNW/ - Smartcool Systems Inc. (TSX-V: SSC) is pleased to announce that the first installation under the new relationship with SmartACR has been approved by the franchisee owner of the 5 Guys Burger & Fries located in Saugus, MA. The customer's cost for the project is being substantially reduced by an incentive from National Grid; a major electric utility in the northeast, under the terms of a Small Business Program Customer Directed Option Agreement. 5 Guys Burgers & Fries, headquartered in Lorton, VA, is one of the fastest growing quick serve restaurant chains in the U.S. with over 1,000 locations and another 1,500 under development.
Paul Gregory; Smartcool VP of Sales - North America, explains "this project is an exciting step in our development as we begin to deploy our new smart thermostat to deliver Smartcool's compressor optimization algorithm technology to the small commercial market. Securing a repeat order from a respected national brand like 5 Guys Burgers & Fries and receiving a financial incentive by a major electric utility like National Grid also validates the value proposition that Smartcool is bringing to the market."
Chris Lefaivre; Smartcool Executive VP - North America, states "we expect this project to be the first of many in this region as the northeast moves into the cooling season and we plug Smartcool's technology platform into the sales funnel developed by Paul's team to build brand awareness and revenue growth."
Ted Konyi; CEO of Smartcool Systems Inc. comments "the addition of the sales opportunities and new technology developed by SmartACR will complement the new direction Smartcool has implemented to achieve our financial goals for the upcoming year."
