Newalta Completes Internal Amalgamation

CALGARY, Jan. 4 /CNW/ - Newalta Corporation ("Newalta") (TSX:NAL) today announced it has completed the previously announced amalgamation between Newalta Inc. and its wholly-owned operating subsidiary, Newalta Corporation, effective January 1, 2010. In connection with this internal reorganization, the name of the resulting public entity is now Newalta Corporation. Both Newalta's shares and debentures continue to trade under the same respective symbols of NAL and NAL.DB, and shareholders and debentureholders are not required to take any action with respect to their share certificates.
