New web-documentary series to profile scientists working in the Canadian Arctic
MONTREAL, March 31, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - In the dawn of economic development in the North, now is a crucial time to be doing research in the Canadian Arctic. Profiles from the Arctic, a web-documentary series exploring research in the Canadian Arctic, was released today, March 31st, at www.arcticprofiles.ca.
The series will feature prominent scientists, students, and staff who work around the Polar Continental Shelf Program, an important research facility and logistics' center in Canada's high Arctic. They discuss their research, their field stories, and the value of conducting research in this challenging environment. Through a series of 25 profiles released over the next several months, the audience can engage with audio clips, short videos, and photographs.
Profiles from the Arctic is created by Katriina O'Kane, and supported by the Canadian Polar Commission. Katriina is a young independent documentary-maker, who studied environmental science at Queen's University prior to this project.
