QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - INO (Institut national d'optique) has announced the signing of a technology transfer agreement with Pavemetrics, a new INO spinoff company. Pavemetrics will benefit from an exclusive worldwide license on INO's road inspection technology, which includes its LRMS (Laser Rut Measurement System), LRIS (Laser Road Imaging System), and LCMS (Laser Crack Measurement System) technologies. INO will also hold a minority share in Pavemetrics Systems Inc. Since 2001, more than 100 of these systems have been sold and are in operation worldwide.
The INO/Pavemetrics license agreement will benefit current and future customers because Pavemetrics will have experienced resources dedicated to technical and commercial support. INO will continue to play a role in the development and manufacture of the LRMS, LRIS, and LCMS systems to ensure the sustainability of Pavemetrics and its product line. For its part, Pavemetrics will now handle all product technical support, sales, orders, and commercial activities.
"I am very pleased with the launch of Pavemetrics Systems Inc. as a company specialized in the commercialization of advanced vision technology for system integrators. This association with Pavemetrics is very promising and is a good example of the entrepreneurial culture we continue to promote within our organization," stated INO president and CEO Jean-Yves Roy.
"Pavemetrics has emerged from Canada's largest center of expertise in industrial optics/photonics and now our role is to take this technology to the next level," said Pavemetrics president and CEO Richard Habel.
