New Products in spotlight at 2009 IIDEX/NeoCon Canada

TORONTO , Sept. 25 /CNW/ - IDC announces the winners of the 2009 IIDEX/Neocon Canada Innovation Awards. The awards celebrate the industry's leading manufacturers and suppliers within the fields of design and architecture, and recognize outstanding achievements in new product design.

Each product selected for an award demonstrates excellence in design, technical innovation and creativity. This year, 52 products were selected to receive awards.

In addition, Innovation Awards were presented to nine companies for their award-winning booths at the IIDEX/NeoCon Canada trade show, taking place today and tomorrow in Toronto .

Twenty-eight judges, representing a wide range of experience in the design community, determined this year's winners. IDC President Jenny Meuller Garbutt says, "The 2009 award-winning products are truly forward-thinking. It is apparent that a great deal of research and innovation went into the design of these products. That is what sets them apart and gives them a competitive edge in the marketplace."

The Innovation Awards are run by the Interior Designers of Canada and Merchandise Mart Properties ( Canada ) Inc., managers of IIDEX/NeoCon Canada , the country's largest exposition and conference for the design, construction and management of the built environment. The Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) owns the annual fall design exposition and organizes the annual Awards of Excellence Gala dinner.
