Mattamy Homes breaks ground on newest Oakville community: The Residences of Creekshore Common

OAKVILLE, ON, April 7, 2016 /CNW/ - Award-winning builder Mattamy Homes has broken ground on construction of its latest Oakville community: The Residences of Creekshore Common. Mattamy, which has grown into North America's largest privately owned homebuilder, has its roots in the Oakville area and has been building in the Town since 1980, with nearly 5,000 homes in 13 communities. This includes Mattamy's flagship community of The Preserve in North Oakville, which opened for sale in 2014. To date, all these homes have been low-rise; The Residences of Creekshore Common represents the company's first mid-rise building in Oakville.

Oakville Mayor Rob Burton, along with Regional and Town Councillor Jeff Knoll, joined representatives of Mattamy Homes on April 5, 2016, to officially break ground on the development. "This unique, vibrant new community is the kind of addition to our town that all Oakville residents stand to benefit from," said Mayor Burton. "It's a positive step in bringing the Dundas Urban Corridor to life and contributing to an even more livable Oakville."

Councillor Knoll echoed the Mayor's comments: "Mattamy's vision for the property is perfectly aligned with our desire for the Dundas Corridor to be a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use urban community."

The Residence of Creekshore Common explores a new, modern architectural style, with layouts ranging from 925 to 1,188 square feet, and prices ranges starting at $405,990. Features and amenities of the building include:

The design for The Residences Of Creekshore Common challenges traditional expectations of midrise living. The community is an extension of The Preserve and is located on the north side of Dundas Street, west of Sixth Line. Situated between two large ponds and directly next to a naturalized channel, it shares physical and visual relationships with neighborhood nodes, community parks and Oakville's Natural Heritage System. It was designed to be walkable, cycle-friendly, and transit-oriented in order to promote active and healthy living. The community is convenient to the necessities of modern urban living, including:

Incorporated water-based subsystems support surrounding picturesque ponds while sloped planted landscapes slow surface run-off to neighbouring sites. South-facing rooms are shaded by large overhangs reducing heat load. Locally produced prefabricated wall, floor and roof panels create efficiencies and reduce waste.

The Residences of Creekshore Common are currently for sale, with occupancy anticipated for the summer of 2017.
