New Learning Solutions from Ceridian Canada help organizations tackle 5
challenges facing today's workplace
MARKHAM, ON, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - Ceridian Canada Ltd., a leading Human Resources solutions provider, today announced the launch of a comprehensive, multi-faceted learning and development solution for organizations and employees. Ceridian Learning Solutions combine in-person training, on-line learning portals, and group coaching via telephone to tackle the specific challenges facing employees and organizations today.
"Canadian companies of every size in almost every sector are facing the same five challenging issues which range from managing change, training new managers, and developing leadership, to dealing with risky workplace issues and enhancing workplace skills to increase productivity," said Heather Turnbull-Smith, Ceridian's director of national training. "Ceridian Learning Solutions effectively address these issues by providing a variety of 'blended' learning packages to help both large and small organizations."
Unique in the marketplace, the concept of 'blended' learning refers to the delivery of training in a variety of ways over a period of time so each issue is addressed in a comprehensive and convenient way. A cost effective option for organizations of any size, Ceridian Learning Solutions help employers create sustained learning and behaviour change. Smaller organizations that don't have the need or numbers for in-house seminars can book individual places in these sessions - opening up new and affordable training and development opportunities for them.
Each package runs for a set period of time ranging from three, six or 12 months and includes workplace or on-line seminars and access to an on-line portal. This includes on-line learning courses and simulations, access to the top on-line business books, and job aids. Coaching is coupled with the different modes of learning to ensure optimum results. The seminars are at specific times and locations, but participants can complete the rest of the program on-line at their own pace and from any location.
"We've been successfully delivering this specialized training to our corporate clients on an ad hoc basis for several years," says Turnbull-Smith. "But we've been receiving more and more requests so there's obviously an increasing need for specialized, in-depth training and development in these areas. Ceridian decided to establish a formal program to meet these needs."
According to the Corporate Leadership Council, "having an engaged, high-performing and healthy workforce is essential to an organization's present and future performance, growth, and adaptability to changing markets. Those employees who are most committed perform 20% better and are 87% less likely to leave the organization." Considering that studies have shown that it can cost up to 18 months' salary to lose and replace a manager or professional and up to six months' salary to lose and replace an hourly worker, firms offering such specialized training and development send a clear message that people at all levels are valued - and feeling valued is one of the top reasons skilled employees stay with an organization.
