New Industrial R&D Consortium a Strategic Asset for Québec's Medtech Sector
MONTREAL, Jan. 29, 2013 /CNW/ - MEDEC, Canada's Medical Technology Companies, is delighted with the announcement today of Quebec Government funding for the MEDTEQ Consortium by Mr. Pierre Duchesne, Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MESRST). MEDEC is a founding member of the new medical technology industrial R&D consortium, together with over thirty companies, universities and providers.
By building upon the strengths of representatives of these three key pillars, this open innovation initiative will facilitate the development of leading edge solutions for patients and address unmet needs of healthcare providers.
While the MEDTEQ Consortium will facilitate increased collaboration between companies of all sizes, it will also provide small to medium size companies the opportunity to highlight their capacity for innovation, both incremental and breakthrough, positioning them directly on the critical path to global markets.
