(WhiteCap) of St. John's, Newfoundland, a subsidiary of the multinational Danish corporation Sirena A/S, is an international and exclusive distributor of Marinard products and has been its principal business partner since 2009. Sirena A/S is the parent company of Whitecap. Lyons Seafoods Limited is a leading seafood company in the United Kingdom. These leaders in the international distribution of seafood products invest in a jewel of the Gaspesie fishing industry in order to consolidate their supply of certified quality shrimp products.
The local shareholders, E. Gagnon et Fils Ltée, Mr. Oneil Bond, Mr. Réal Bond, fishermen, Les Pêcheries Réal Bond inc., Fiducie familiale Oneil Bond, 9084-8789 Quebec Inc., Lelièvre, Lelièvre et Lemoignan, Mr. Roch Lelièvre et Mr. Benoît Reeves shall remain the owners of the remaining 50% of the company. For his part, Mr. Darrell Roche, Sales and Procurement Vice President of Whitecap, is enthusiastic about his consortium's investment. "We are securing our supply of shrimp products and are becoming shareholders of a modern, state-of-the-art shrimp processing facility and one of the finest coldwater shrimp factories in the world".
Marinard is recognized worldwide for its high quality in the processing of shrimp, for its well-developed environmental practices and the protection and sustainability of the marine resources and their natural environment.
The factory has adopted a rigorous policy regarding the management of quality and safety, based on international certification, including HACCP, British Retail Consortium (BRC) and MSC. The high technology production equipment confirms Marinard's status of leader in the production of shrimp shell powder. The majority of the production of cooked and peeled shrimp and its by-products in Rivière-au-Renard is exported to international markets where Marinard has carved out a position as one of the leading suppliers of cooked and peeled shrimp to key customers within the seafood industry.
