More than 50,000 people with access to Leya's digital platform are joining the Neolegal ecosystem
MONTREAL, Oct. 7, 2026 /CNW/ -- Neolegal inc. ("Neolegal"), a Quebec-based legal technology company, announced today the acquisition of Technologies Leya ("Leya"), a digital legal support platform offered as a benefit by employers, insurers, and financial institutions. Through this transaction, more than 50,000 people with access to Leya will be added to Neolegal's ecosystem, further strengthening its position in the growing market for legal support integrated into employee benefits programs. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
This acquisition marks an important milestone in Neolegal's growth and forms part of a broader consolidation trend in Canada's legal technology platform market. By integrating Leya into its operations, Neolegal is strengthening its position in the employee benefits market and continuing its mission to offer simplified legal solutions through innovative and personalized technologies to a critical mass of Canadians.
With this transaction, Neolegal is expanding its reach and creating even more value for its partners, clients, and end users. The complementarity between Neolegal's technology and Leya's expertise will also help accelerate the development of an innovative, easy-to-access offering aligned with market expectations.
"The acquisition of Leya is fully aligned with our vision of transforming how organizations and individuals access legal products. Leya has built a strong position in the group insurance space, and its integration will help accelerate our growth in this strategic market."-- Philip Hazeltine, CEO, Neolegal
"I founded Leya with a simple conviction: legal support should be part of employee benefits just like dental care or mental health support, and it should be offered through the organizations people already trust. Neolegal has shared that conviction from the beginning, and both our partners and our users are in very good hands. I am grateful to our team, our clients, and our investors, who believed in Leya from day one."-- Ryan Hillier, Founder, Leya
At a time when employers are looking to enhance their employee benefits programs with high-value protections, legal products are taking on an increasingly important role. This acquisition reflects Neolegal's commitment to investing in this growing market and playing a leading role in it by leveraging a legal technology platform designed to simplify, structure, and broaden access to legal products.
With this acquisition, Neolegal confirms its ambition to become the benchmark for legal products integrated into employee benefits programs, while continuing to pursue its mission: to offer simplified legal solutions through innovative and personalized technologies.
