VANCOUVER, Nov. 6, 2014 /CNW/ - NDP leader John Horgan is scheduled to speak to nearly 650 delegates attending the 29th Biennial Convention of the Hospital Employees' Union.
Horgan is scheduled to speak at 3:50 p.m. (approx.) in the Regency Ballroom on the 3rd Floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Vancouver, November 6.
Delegates are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the union, which was founded at Vancouver General Hospital in the fall of 1944.
HEU represents 46,000 health care workers across the province. HEU members work in hospitals, residential care facilities, community care, First Nations health centres, medical supply warehouses and other shared services.
During the week-long convention, delegates have debated a number of resolutions and elected a new Provincial Executive. The convention continues through Friday.
