TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - NORML Canada announces its "Vote your Conscience" campaign directed at defeating Bill C-10 in the Senate.
Now is the last chance to write to the Senate and urge them to vote against Bill C-10, also known as the Omnibus Crime Bill.
We are turning our particular attention to the 17 Conservative Senators not appointed by Stephen Harper. We are asking these 17 Senators to ignore party lines and vote against Bill C-10, the "Safe Streets and Communities Act."
NORML Canada believes these 17 Senators have an opportunity and an obligation to oppose this bad piece of legislation and in the process become Canadian heroes. If all 17 non-Harper Conservative Senators voted against the crime bill it would be defeated. Already, Senator Pierre-Claude Nolin has indicated he will be opposing this bill, we hope he will inspire others to follow in his footsteps.
NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, invites all concerned citizens to download a copy of the letter available on our website, and send it to all senators.
NORML Canada will also be hand delivering these letters to the 17 Senators this Wednesday Feb. 22nd, and is asking Canadians to join us in engaging these Senators. Please remember to be polite and professional with members of our government. To support our campaign NORML Canada is pleased to announce the launch of our "Vote your Conscience" campaign website www.norml.ca/BILL-C10-HQ where a complete list of the senators, instructions and information about our potential heroes and how to engage them can be found.
