CALGARY, May 2, 2013 /CNW/ - The National Exempt Market Association (NEMA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Nick Fournier to our board of Directors. Alberta Industry Exempt Market Committee (AEMIC)
In partnership with the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC), NEMA has formed AEMIC. NEMA would like to thank the efforts of Dean Koeller, who initiated this committee formation with the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) and will also be chairing it. AEMIC's purpose is to ensure our industry has a voice and an efficient channel to communicate concerns and opportunities to regulators. The ASC has agreed to meet regularly with AEMIC to discuss concerns, issues and opportunities. NEMA will disseminate this information to our membership base; their first meeting is June 12, 2013. There are nine members nominated by NEMA and approved by the ASC for AEMIC:
Chair: Dean Koeller, Calvert Home Mortgage

NEMA is creating a website and supporting materials for the general public about the Exempt Market. The website is exempteduction.ca, and will officially launch this month. This initiative was born out of NEMA's Education Committee and will provide much needed information to the general public, and be a resource to industry advisors.
