National Exempt Market Association Launches www.exempteducation.ca
New website aims to educate retail investors about exempt market securities
CALGARY, Aug. 8, 2013 /CNW/ - The National Exempt Market Association (NEMA) has launched a first of its kind website dedicated to teaching investors and advisors about the basics of exempt market securities. "We believe education for both advisors and investors is paramount to a credible exempt market. Given the exempt market's continued evolution, growth, and attraction to both advisors and investors, we are pleased to launch this website in an effort to give Canadians baseline knowledge about our industry" said NEMA president Craig Skauge.
The website includes an overview of the differences between exempt market securities and traditional investments, investor qualifications in each province, hints and tips about navigating the exempt market, links to financial planning resources, and a brief educational video.
In addition to the education committee (chaired by NEMA Vice President Cora Pettipas) who was responsible for the website's creation, NEMA would like to thank the numerous financial sponsors for making the creation of this website possible.
NEMA is an association comprised of participants in the exempt market including Exempt Market Dealers, Dealing Representatives, Issuers, Legal and Accounting Firms and Service Providers. NEMA's mandate is to be active in the growth of the exempt market's public profile and the improvement of the efficiency and integrity of the private capital markets.
