Manitoba's fastest wireless speeds now available in the heart of the Swan Valley
SWAN RIVER, MB, July 21, 2014 /CNW/ - (TSX:MBT) MTS, Manitoba's leading telecommunications provider, today announced it has expanded its 4G LTE wireless network to Swan River. This is the latest in a series of expansions this year that brought LTE to Dauphin, Falcon Lake, Jessica Lake, West Hawk Lake, Gimli, Hecla, Altona, Winkler, Thompson and Morden. With download speeds of up to 150 Mbps, 4G LTE sets the standard in wireless technology.
"I'm pleased that eleven more Manitoba communities will now enjoy everything MTS's fastest wireless network has to offer," said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. "LTE offers data speeds that are up to ten times faster than the current HSPA+ technology, ensuring customers enjoy their new LTE smartphones to the fullest."
The MTS 4G LTE Wireless Network gives LTE devices the power to stream movies and download music, pictures and apps faster than ever before; to play multi-player games; and to quickly access emails and business documents.
MTS was the first to bring 4G LTE technology to Manitoba. The service has already been launched in Winnipeg, Brandon, Victoria Beach, Grand Beach, Portage la Prairie, Selkirk, Steinbach, and Ste. Anne. More than 850,000 Manitobans now have access to MTS's 4G LTE Wireless Network.
LTE technology complements MTS's 4G HSPA+ wireless network, which reaches 97 per cent of the province's population. For more information about MTS's 4G LTE Wireless Network, please visit www.mts.ca/4glte.
