MOTORING takes top spot in AJAC video awards

Television's longest-running and most respected Canadian automotive program celebrating 25 years on TSN, clean sweeps video awards

TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2013 /CNW/ - The 30th Annual AJAC (Automotive Journalists Association of Canada) Awards banquet was held last week in scenic Niagara Falls. Integrated Automotive Experience proudly presented the awards for Best Video Journalism.  "We are very pleased to be presenting these new awards for Best Video Journalism to very talented Canadian automotive journalists," said Jason Guttman CEO, Integrated Automotive Experience.

The Integrated Automotive Best Video Journalism Award is given to the AJAC journalist on-air personalities who have demonstrated overall excellence in delivering the news subject on television.  The winning videos showcased in-depth research and original analysis; the ability to question, analyze, and present the automotive news in an exciting and engaging way.  The panel of expert judges made their decisions based on journalistic content, on-air presentation, and grasp of subject matter, creativity, market significance and entertainment value.

The winner for Best Video in the Television category was Brad Diamond of MOTORING 2013 for his review of the Subaru Forester demonstrating excellent editing and detail shots.  Judges agreed that Brad's on-air credibility is head and shoulders above the competition, and his natural presence is paired with solid journalistic content.  The great driving footage showcased the Subaru in an unbiased and professional way, and the reference to the first generation Forester gives the model a nice and complete critique within a quality production.

The runner-up in the Broadcast Television category was Russ Bond for his 2-Minute Test Drive review of the Jaguar XJL AWD on MOTORING 2013.  Judges liked the addition of humour in the video which kept the overall experience light and found his presentation familiar and informative throughout.

"We couldn't be happier with these awards," an excited Motoring 2013 executive producer Isabel Diamond said. "It is an honour to be recognized for the work that goes into producing Canada's longest running and most respected automotive television program. I am happy for all of us here at Bradford Productions, as well as our broadcast partner TSN, and our show sponsors.  We have a great team!"

"It's great to take home both awards," Brad Diamond said. "I'd like to thank the judges, and our Bradford Productions crew, the engine that keeps us motoring."

Runner-up Russ Bond echoed Diamond's comments. "Wow…I'm pleasantly shocked, but the truth be told, this award is shared with our entire talented Motoring team."
