MONTREAL, Feb. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Mosaiq Inc. announced today that it has acquired the global rights to the Lemon Hart Rum brand from Pernod Ricard. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Marketing and sales transition of the brand to Mosaiq has been completed while production transition will be completed by the end of June 2010.
Established in 1804, the Lemon Hart brand has a rich heritage in the global rum category.
In the late 18th century, Mr. Lemon Hart became the first supplier of rum to the British Royal Navy. In 1804, he moved his business from his small merchants premises in Cornwall, England to London and soon casks of the finest rums were brought across the high seas from the Caribbean, to be blended into a rare and magnificent product which today, over two centuries later, remains a drink to be savoured. In Canada, the Lemon Hart brand has long been the favorite choice of discerning imported dark rum consumers.
The acquisition of Lemon Hart lifts Mosaiq to number one in the Imported Dark Rum segment in Canada with a 41% share of market.
